I have always had a passion for helping people. I was drawn to nursing with a desire to make an impact on the way people cared for themselves. Healthcare however, can be complicated and I quickly found visits were not structured with the time to have meaningful conversations regarding health, to fully understand circumstances, to hear the patient’s unique story, journey, and how they wanted to be in life. I could see many patients trying to change, wanting to change but struggling with the process. I felt there was a different way I could help people. It was through a conference that I was exposed to coaching and then my personal experience with coaching (due to burnout) that I realized this is what I was missing in my office visits. Coaching is how I wanted to help people.
I have a bachelor’s degree of science in rehabilitation psychology, a bachelor's degree of science in nursing, a master’s of science in nursing with an emphasis as a women’s health nurse practitioner, and a nurse educator graduate certificate. I completed a Health and Wellness Coaching certificate through University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
